Artistic Associate 2024

Contract period 

We are seeking a theatre professional who has strong knowledge of contemporary theatre or dance theatre-making practice with experience in leading creative process.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The role will play a critical part in the outcomes of NORPA’s 2024 and 2025 program and the exploration and consolidation of ideas and concepts for developing and presenting new theatre work. The role will work closely with NORPA’s Artistic Director to explore creative ideas for our annual program as well as lead or support the development of new work through identifying future NORPA projects.

ABOUT YOU

We are seeking a theatre professional who has strong knowledge of contemporary theatre or dance theatre-making practice with experience in leading creative process. We are hoping you will share with us your strong passion for creating original works and the power of bringing together place, people and story. Most importantly, you will have a strong understanding of your craft and process in working with and leading performers and creative teams.  

You will have skills in directing theatre/dance theatre/physical theatre; be articulate and rigorous when expressing and developing creative concepts and in describing your process as an artist. We are also interested to hear your experience and ideas for supporting the creative and professional development of performers. Theatre or dance makers who are currently working on independent projects that could be developed with NORPA are also encouraged to apply. We anticipate you will bring ideas, partners, networks and projects with you and be passionate about NORPA’s future.

We are interested in creatives who are based in the Northern Rivers NSW, or creatives who have a strong desire to work in a regional context.
