FLOW

Created and performed by Mitch King with Blake Rhodes
Directed by Jade Dewi Tyas Tunggal

ABOUT THE SHOW

Gather together for theatre under the stars at FLOW, a free outdoor community event celebrating kinship, culture and connection.

Told through dance, poetry, video projection and rap, Flow is a yarn about Yaegl country and its neighbouring nations. Inspired by the first native title claim on a body of water, it’s the tale of a man’s search to discover more about his story, and our region’s shared history.

Yaegl Bundjalung man Mitch King is joined on stage by sound artist Blake Rhodesdirected by Jade Dewi Tyas Tunggal. Together they journey to find identity in music, urban culture and nature. Guided by the voices of elders, custodians and young people, they explore the living traditions held in local ancestral lands and discover the cultural significance of the waters that flow through our region.

As a gift to our community, NORPA proudly presents FLOW as a free outdoor event held in two stunning locations – by the river at Maclean Showground (16 – 17 Nov) and in the heart of Lismore at The Quad (23 – 25 Nov). The evening will also feature a pre-show guest performance by a local musician.

Everyone is welcome for this all-ages theatre concert. Grab your picnic blanket, pick up some grub from a local food vendor, and settle in for an unforgettable evening with family, friends, and community.

Plus, dive deeper into the themes of the show with a free events program of workshops, talks and activities.

Admission is free but tickets are required – book your free ticket via the links below.

Please note this is an alcohol-free event.
