The Duet: Leaning into Extreme Physicality

A Dinner Party at the End of the World workshop

Join Kimberley McIntyre and Phil Blackman for a day of high-energy exploration in movement, play, and connection. Beginning as an ensemble of movers and gradually building into more dynamic exchanges, participants will explore and experience the duet work Kimberley and Phil are developing as part of NORPA’s Dinner Party at the End of the World program.

Expect to lean, slide, roll, run, fall, push and pull (with skill), laugh, and even struggle. Think of it as a joyful tumble — a little like excitable puppies at the beach. Different bodies bring different energies, and all sensibilities are welcome. There will be time to witness each other, reflect, and debrief. And yes, there will be mats to roll on.

Come with a friend you’d like to work with, or be paired with someone new. A live musician will add resonance and energy to the room.
