Help keep regional voices alive

Creative Partnerships Australia have recently announced they will match donations made to the NORPA Foundation – dollar for dollar – via their Plus1 program for donations made between 15 October 2018 and 31 May 2019.

This is a rare opportunity given to us by Creative Partnerships Australia. Now is the best time to donate because you can double your impact and help NORPA keep regional voices alive!

About the NORPA Foundation

The NORPA Foundation’s mission is to ensure we can continue to inspire and shape contemporary theatre from a regional perspective.

Through ticket sales we are able to bring to Lismore a quality Season by Australia’s best performing arts companies. However, what is not so observable to audiences is NORPA’s work in supporting the making of new work, education, youth and local Indigenous culture… and this is where the NORPA Foundation comes in.

We Are Makers

Amazingly, NORPA is one of only a few regional theatre companies in Australia that creates original stories. Our stories are inspired by our region and people, but remain universal in how they touch hearts, inspire thought and very importantly, contribute to Australia’s collective cultural landscape.

Education Program

Our education program provides access to nearly 5,000 primary and secondary school students from across the Northern Rivers each year. We have partnered successfully with the Catholic Schools Office Diocese of Lismore in the past two years and we are keen to expand this important contact.

Indigenous Program

Bundjalung Nghari, our Indigenous program, is at the forefront of Australian theatre. Driven, empowered and inspired by Bundjalung artists and elders, Bundjalung culture and lore is the basis of some of the most seminal new performance work being developed in our country. To quote Rhoda Roberts, ‘NORPA is the only regional theatre company where Indigenous artists and leaders are creators and decision makers’.

How you can help

To continue our programs and do more than tour metropolitan work, we need your support. The NORPA Foundation is designed to provide an easy, tax deductible way to contribute to the cultural development of our region. With you, we can continue our education program and develop the new work that shapes contemporary theatre from regional Australia.

If you’re interested in learning more about our Foundation please contact Patrick Healey, General Manager on [email protected] or call 02 6622 0300.
