For 30 years, NORPA has entertained, connected and engaged our community, challenging you with the new and the extraordinary, and inspiring you with stories from the country and culture around us.

While we continue to innovatively recover from the 2022 floods which keeps a Lismore-based venue offline, your continued support is vital to our engagement with local artists and audiences across the Northern Rivers region.

We continue to make and present original Australian theatre without walls, support First Nations artists and stories on country, offer employment and training to local artists, and deliver vibrant youth and schools engagement programs.

We are makers

NORPA is one of only a few regional theatre companies in Australia that creates original theatre inspired by place. This work creates unique experiences for local and visiting audiences and, very importantly, contributes to Australia's collective cultural landscape.

Education:
We inspire young people

NORPA offers an annual program for primary and secondary school students across the region. Like Lift, a youth holiday program guiding participants through aerial training, improvisation and choreographic techniques to develop their own performance style and build connections with each other.

Indigenous:
We make shows with First Nations people

NORPA is dedicated to supporting First Nations and Indigenous artists through residencies, workshops and new works about Bundjalung country. Flow, a yarn about country and the water flowing through it, premiered in July 2021 and toured the Northern Rivers in November 2023.
