GROUNDSWELL 2026

A symposium for innovation in place-based practice

GROUNDSWELL is the first national artist-led symposium exploring innovation in creative practices beyond Australia’s metropolitan centres.

Co-designed by leading artists from across regional Australia, the symposium shines a light on the methodologies behind some of Australia’s most compelling place-based projects, and how artists are responding to the profound challenges of our time through their work.

Through case studies, workshops, discussions and landscape-based experiences, participants will hear directly from their creative peers on philosophies, processes, creative leadership, First Nations collaboration, socially engaged practice and creating large-scale work outside major cities.

Hosted by Crimson Rosella Creative Adventures and NORPA, GROUNDSWELL 2026 will take place on Djiringanj Country on the Far South Coast of NSW, in and around the new Tathra Headland Theatre and the iconic Tathra Hotel.

Be part of the GROUNDSWELL. Shape the conversation.
