About Azzam Mohamed
Azzam is a dancer, performer, and educator who has trained across Afro-House and Kuduro to HipHop, Popping and House. He curated and directed Sculptured Riddims for Sydney Festival 2024, bringing street dancers together to respond to Michael Shaw’s inflatable sculpture Hi-Vis. His recent full-length work Katma, produced by PYT Fairfield, premiered at Sydney Festival 2025 to rave reviews. Exploring party and club culture, Katma draws inspiration from dance parties in Sudan, Sydney and New York, translating the rituals, energy and spirit of these spaces into a joyous dance-theatre experience.
